Welcome Back to Brown!!! We hope your breaks were fantastic. But now that the school year has started it's time to get back to DANCING! As always there is no partner or experience required and while it's great to bring a friend, it's just as nice to make new ones in class. We are pleased to announce the first ballroom class of the semester this Sunday, February 5th, at:
5 pm for beginners and 6 pm for intermediate dancers in ALUMNAE AUDITORIUM.
If you have had at least one semester of experience in ballroom we encourage you to attend the intermediate class. However, intermediate dancers are also highly encouraged to attend the beginner class to review the steps they learned in previous years and help out our beginners. We will have tutorials on Thursdays from 6-8 pm every week reviewing the steps learned in beginner and intermediate classes. More information on this will follow in a later email.
This semester we are also excited to announce the return of Brown Ballroom Dance Club's coach of over ten years, Russell Monk. Russell came to Brown after a long and illustrious ballroom career in the professional as well as teaching circuit. He is a former British and Scottish Closed Champion, a finalist in the World, European, British (Blackpool) UK and International Championships. He has won numerous Championships in both Ballroom and Latin Dancing at all levels from Junior through professional. He has taught dance at MIT, UCSD, Harvard and BU. Russell started at Brown many years ago and now continues with us at the request of our first coach Christina Cryan. He looks forward to welcoming back the veterans and meeting the new dancers.
We're incredibly pumped to see all of your beautiful faces again this semester and we look forward to seeing some new ones. If you have any questions feel free to email Alex at email@example.com or Andrea at firstname.lastname@example.org.
