Organization Profile
EcoReps are undergraduate students, living both on and off-campus, who work to educate their classmates about environmental issues. EcoReps work with their fellow students and Facilities Management to help make Brown a greener campus. We operate on the philosophy that we can reduce our harmful impact on the environment by making simple lifestyle changes.
Eco-reps meet once a week to plan and work on current environmental issues. We will be developing new campus wide programs, planning events and organizing projects. We also do weekly service projects where we get hands-on experience solving problems and making Brown green!

Hey all! My proposal is to reduce the amount of paper used each day by organizations table slipping in the ratty and the v-dub.
The situation: clubs/frats/sorority's/sports teams/etc. are allowed to put slips of paper on each table in each cafeteria to advertise for events, recruit, etc. After each meal, the cafeteria staff remove the table slips, so the members of the organization must go back and place new slips on each table in each cafeteria.
This causes groups to use way more paper than is necessary.
My proposal: rather than after every meal, the cafeteria workers remove the table slips only after the last meal of the day (usually dinner). Thus, any slips put on the tables at any point of the day will be there all day. Groups will be allowed to table slip only one time in the course of the day (which is all that is necessary since the slips won't be removed), and can only table slip before breakfast or lunch. (That last part is not necessary, but may make things simpler. Let's talk about that and see what you all think.....)
Let me know your thoughts, and if you're interested in helping me out in this you can e mail me at kathryn_meek@brown.edu
Thanks everyone!

Hello Kathy,
This is something that's been bothering me, too. I was told the slips do get placed into a recycling bin, but I'd rather see them reduced AND recycled. I'd be happy to help speak to dining services administration if you need me to do so.

When, where and how often does Ecoreps meet? I attended the first meeting, but then heard nothing afterwards.
