Organization Profile
Euterpe (Greek for ‘delight’): Graduate Students Poetry Night at Brown University is a loose conglomerate of Brown graduate students, whose purpose is to give grad students in all departments an outlet for artistic expression in a warm, welcoming environment of our friends, colleagues and peers. We would like to provide a space/time where we can all take a break from the critical, theoretical and analytical work we do every day. At least once a semester, we will come together to share our creative pieces in a variety of forms (original poetry, translations, or otherwise performance-based work), and in a variety of languages. At the same time, we would hope that these events will continue to bring together graduate students from diverse departments, who might not otherwise get to interact socially or academically, around informal, fun evenings of poetry and performance.
